Description of Interests

Walter Eppich, MD, MEd is a pediatric emergency medicine physician at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he is faculty development lead for the Department of Medical Education. He has been a co-investigator on multiple simulation-related research grants. Nationally and internationally, he has taught extensively on basic and advanced simulation educator courses and serves as principal faculty at the Center for Medical Simulation in Boston/USA. Walter has been an invited speaker on topics related to simulation as well as feedback & debriefing around the world. Since April 2014, he is candidate for a PhD in Medical Education from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. His research interests involve healthcare debriefing as well as the intersection between workplace- and simulation-based learning. He served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare from January 2012 to December 2014.
