Dr. Wu joined Northwestern University in August 2017 as a tenured Professor in Urology. Dr. Wu previously served as a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Washington. Research in Dr. Wu's laboratory include these specific aspects: 1) mechanisms of cancer immune evasion; 2) development of novel cancer immunotherapy; 3) Immune therapy-related mucosal toxicity; 4) mechanisms of cancer therapeutic resistance; 4) cancer biomarker discovery. Prostate Cancer is one of the specific disease Dr. Wu's research focuses on. Dr. Wu's work is focus on the NKG2D axis in tumors which can be applied to a broad spectrum of cancer types and autoimmunity.
