Yes, all students who are admitted are offered full tuition coverage, a stipend and paid coverage in the NU student health service and insurance plan. HSIP students continue to receive both the tuition coverage and stipend as long as they progress satisfactorily through the program. The stipend for 2016-17 is $31,716.
The program will initiate interviews for candidates who are being strongly considered for admission or for candidates for whom additional information is needed. An applicant cannot request an interview. The program will contact the applicant to arrange an interview.
Yes. Foreign applicants residing in the US will be eligible for in-person interviews if selected by the admissions committee. Selected applicants from outside the US may be interviewed by phone or Skype.
Yes. The Northwestern University Graduate School requires 600 on the written test, 250 on the computer based test, or 100 on the internet test for admission to the university. The HSIP cannot waive this requirement except for applicants with undergraduate or graduate degrees from institutions where English is the language of instruction.
HSIP generally admits students for the Fall of each year. The exception is for those wishing to pursue the Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety track, who should apply for Summer term as required courses for this track begin in July.
