About the Program

The Master of Science in Health Services and Outcomes Research (HSOR) prepares physicians and clinical health professionals for careers in academic medicine, and non-clinicians for careers in academia, health systems, and research and policy organizations. The degree's flexible, hybrid format allows full- or part-time study, and accommodates students residing outside the Chicago area. 

Program Goals

As a student in this program, you will learn to:

  1. Conduct methodologically sound research,
  2. Create and disseminate new knowledge aimed at improving health services and outcomes, and
  3. Secure grant funding to support your research.

Ultimately, your research will identify more effective ways to organize, finance, and deliver patient care to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
