About the Eighth Annual Lewis Landsberg Research Day

Welcome to Research Day! The goal of this campus-wide event, happening April 5, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Feinberg Pavilion, Third Floor Conference Center, is to promote faculty and trainee development through sharing of exciting research and conversation with colleagues.

Highlights of the 2012 Research Day include keynote speaker Robert D. Goldman, PhD, who will present "Unexpected Links Between Rare Diseases and Basic Science: A Story of Two Kids and Their Moms," and the all-school scientific poster session and awards ceremony. Junior faculty are especially encouraged to submit abstracts and to network and exchange ideas with Feinberg faculty. In 2011, more than 200 abstracts were submitted, providing a unique opportunity to meet fellow researchers and learn more about their work. Research Day also provides the opportunity to learn more about the Research Cores and the full spectrum of support they provide both clinical and basic science research.

Research Day was originally initiated in 2004 as an outreach activity of the Women's Faculty Organization. Since then it has grown to be one of the major scientific gatherings at Feinberg. Research Day is now dedicated to Lewis Landsberg for his many years of leadership, guidance and encouragement to all of us who were privileged to work with him during his tenure as Dean.
