| Educational Resources William R. Roach, MD, Residents’ Education Center The William R. Roach, MD, Residents' Education Center, located on the fifth floor of Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Prentice Women's Hospital and Maternity Center, was originally dedicated in December 1997. Established to perpetuate the ideals that the late William R. Roach, MD, emeritus professor of obstetrics and gynecology, taught and practiced, the center offers residents access to the latest learning technologies to encourage comprehension of complex medical topics. Features of the Center State-of-the Art Computer Stations: Each workstation is equipped with e-mail and Internet access, Microsoft Office software, fax machine, scanner and access to MEDLINE and hospital charts. Maternal and Fetal Monitor Display: This monitor allows residents to continually monitor obstetrics patients in labor. David W. Cromer Education Center Located in Evanston Hospital, this facility, named for the immediate past chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Evanston Hospital, is equipped with modern resources similar to those found in the Roach Center. Galter Health Sciences Library The Galter Health Sciences Library serves the educational, clinical, and research information needs of faculty, staff, students, and alumni of Northwestern University and the McGaw Medical Center and its affiliated institutions. The library’s holdings of 280,000 volumes focus on the basic medical sciences and clinical medicine. An extensive collection of rare books, journals, and manuscripts, along with instruments, etchings, and photographs, are available in the library’s special collections.
