Research Project
Each resident must design and carry out a research project with the assistance of a faculty mentor. This research project is the basis for a presentation as a PGY-4 at the department's Annual Residents' Research Seminar. The purpose of this project is to provide an opportunity to formulate a hypothesis, put forth an appropriate study design with power analysis (if necessary), execute the study, and analyze the data. This project serves as the required thesis and in most cases, results in publication.
