Remembering a Pioneer in Organ Transplantation and Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgeon John J. Bergan, MD, ’59 GME, died on June 11 in Chicago, 50 years after he performed the first kidney transplant at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
