Dr. Rymer Leads Research Efforts at RIC

W. Zev Rymer, MD, PhD, professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, has been appointed vice president for research at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). The Institute's most senior scientist and the founder of the current RIC research program, Dr. Rymer will oversee all RIC research efforts. This newly created position signifies a change in the organizational structure and a heightened commitment to research.

Dr. Rymer will retain the role of director for the Sensory Motor Performance Program (SMPP) and Searle Rehabilitation Research Chair until a successor is recruited. The search for a new director of SMPP is being led by Ferdinando Mussa-Ivaldi, PhD, professor of physiology. Dr. Rymer has served as the director of SMPP since 1987 and as Searle Research Director since 1989.
