NU does not provide a modem pool for dial-in access. Each individual will have to make his/her own arrangements with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to obtain remote access. NU provides general information about this at http://www.it.northwestern.edu/offcampus/providers/comparison.html Please make sure to set up a VPN connection once you have access to the Internet. http://www.it.northwestern.edu/oncampus/vpn/index.html The technicians at the Drop-In Center may be able to assist you with problems but it is more likely that you will need to communicate directly with your ISP. It may be difficult for us to help with problems that occur at remote locations. However, we have had experience in setting these connections up and we will be happy to talk with you about problems you may encounter. |
