Clinical Specialty: Acute and chronic diseases of the kidney, acute and chronic dialysis, hypertension, and kidney transplantation (does not accept referrals)

Subspecialty: Glomerulosclerosis, nephrotic syndrome

 

Research Focus:  The cellular and molecular mechanisms of progressive kidney disease, with an emphasis on cell signal transduction in renal fibrosis.  Dr. Schnaper is Director of the H. William Schnaper Laboratory.

Medical school: University of Maryland, 1975

Postgraduate training: St. Louis Children's Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine, 1982; Mount Sinai Hospital, 1977-78

Certifications: Board certified in Pediatric Nephrology, 1982; Pediatrics, 1980
