Sarah S. Rittner, MA is a Project Coordinator with the Center for Healthcare Equity in the Institute for Healthcare Studies at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.  Sarah received her MA at Michigan State University with studies in medical sociology, bioethics, and health communication.  She served as Coordinator of the 2006 Cook County Health Policy Report “Protecting the Legacy of Caring for Vulnerable Populations: Essential Priorities for the Cook County Health Care System” and was Project Co-Director of the Community Healthy Lifestyles Partnership Project (C-HeLP), a National Institutes of Health National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities funded grant focusing on the reduction of chronic disease and health disparities in the Austin community of Chicago.  Her current research work focuses on projects examining strategies for reducing disparities in healthcare. She works directly with the director for the Center for Healthcare Equity and with investigators and senior staff at collaborating organizations such as the Joint Commission, the American Hospital Association, the Commonwealth Fund and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Sarah serves as a member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center Health Disparities and Special Populations Advisory Board, the Northwestern University Community Engagement Council (NUCEC), the Westside Health Authority’s Health Promotions Board, and the Roberto Clemente Student Health Center Community Board.
