Deepa Rao, Ph.D. is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute for Healthcare Studies at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Rao is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in psychometrics, health disparities, and health psychology. Her research has focused on investigating differential item functioning in stigma and quality of life measures across linguistic and cultural groups. She has also worked on projects examining determinants of health related quality of life in culturally diverse populations of people living with HIV/AIDS. She is particularly interested in designing interventions that will help vulnerable populations living with mental illness and HIV/AIDS reduce stigma and better access treatment in order to improve their overall quality of life.
