As a supporter of the John T. Grayhack, MD, Fund in the Department of Urology, Luther C. McKinney is truly making a difference at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Since 2008, Mr. McKinney has funded the novel research studies of Kevin T. McVary, MD, FACS, as well as his efforts to serve as a mentor to young scientists in the Department. Mr. McKinney has said that he admires Dr. McVary not only because he is a great doctor, but because he appreciates the physician’s "straight-talk" way of communicating with his patients. Along with Robert Brannigan, MD, Dr. McVary, professor in the Department of Urology, is leading the Men’s Health Initiative at the Feinberg School of Medicine. His primary research interests are prostate diseases, including prostate cancer and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, as well as the evaluation and treatment of sexual function. Mr. McKinney’s recent gift of $10,000 will advance Dr. McVary’s current studies exploring the wide range of diseases and disorders that affect men’s health. The Grayhack Fund is also supported by the generous contributions of John R. Moore and David F. Goldberg.
