Medical Alumni Class Giving Funds

Bruno Epstein Class of 1955 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1955 in honor of its 50th reunion and late classmate Dr. Bruno Epstein (a survivor of the holocaust who was killed by an irate patient during a clerkship rotation at Cook County Hospital) to ensure the lasting legacy of the class and Dr. Epstein.
Class of 1957 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1957 in honor of its 55th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class.
Class of 1958 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1958 in honor of its 50th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class.

Class of 1967 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1967 in honor of Dr. Lewis Landsberg to ensure the lasting legacy of the class. To endow the scholarship and name a scholar in time to meet him or her during the 50th reunion, the Class of 1967 needs to raise at least $100,000 by August 31, 2016.
Class of 1968 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1968 in honor of its 45th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class.
Class of 1969 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1969 in honor of its 45th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class. To fully endow the scholarship and name a scholar, the class needs to raise at least $100,000 by December 31, 2018.
Class of 1970 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1970 in honor of their 45th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class. To fully endow the scholarship and name a scholar, the class needs to raise at least $100,000 by August 31, 2019.
Class of 1971 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1971 in honor of their 45th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class. To fully endow the scholarship and name a scholar in time to meet him or her during the 45th reunion, the class needs to raise at least $100,000 by August 31, 2015.
Class of 1974 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1974 in honor of its 25th reunion and endowed before its 40th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class.
Class of 1987 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1987 in honor of its 25th reunion to ensure the lasting legacy of the class.
Lynda Singshinsuk Class of 1991 Scholarship FundEstablished by the Class of 1991 in honor of its 25th reunion and late classmate Lynda Singshinsuk who died during her time at Northwestern. This fund will ensure the lasting legacy of the class while honoring Lynda’s memory.

Ginny Darakjian Scholarship FundCreated in 2013 to celebrate Ginny Darakjian, retired Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations, and her 23 years of service to Northwestern and our medical alumni.
Harry W. Linde Honors Program Research Fellowship FundEstablished in honor of Harry W. Linde, PhD, former associate dean of the HMPE, this fellowship award is open to all HPME students who submit an acceptable research proposal. It honors Dr. Linde, who passed away in 2013, and helps HPME students explore research opportunities.
Eve and Arthur Veis, PhD, HPME Scholarship FundEstablished by Art Veis, PhD, who directed the HPME until 1977, this endowed scholarship provides support in perpetuity for current and future HPME students.
Jack Snarr Scholarship FundEstablished by alumni, friends, and former colleagues in honor of Jack Snarr, PhD, former associate dean for students, this endowed scholarship provides support in perpetuity for current and future medical students as it honors Dr. Snarr’s generous spirit.
Dr. Howard and Regina G. Traisman Scholarship FundEstablished through a generous bequest by Dr. Howard S. Traisman, this endowed scholarship provides support in perpetuity for current and future medical students as it recognizes the Traisman family’s legacy and commitment to Northwestern.
Noel A. DeBacker Endowed Scholarship FundEstablished by patients and friends in honor of Dr. Noel A. DeBacker, a graduate of our residency program and faculty member at the medical school. This endowed scholarship has been embraced by Dr. DeBacker as a means to help medical students pursue their dreams to practice primary care medicine by supporting fourth-year students who have matched in primary care, internal medicine, and/or geriatrics residency programs.

Emergency MedicineEmergency Medicine Gift FundSupports department initiatives such as Northwestern Emergency Medicine Innovations (NEMI), our unique, resident-initiated design program. Through NEMI, residents not only make positive, practical changes in the Northwestern Emergency Department, but also gain invaluable expertise in grant writing and submission.
Spirit of 2010 AwardProvides support to a current resident who has a planned educational experience that requires additional funding, such as travel for an international medical mission, a new research project, etc.
