I am the director for development for Northwestern Medicine and the vice dean for Development & Alumni Relations. I am a pediatric nephrologist and immunologist who was on the medical faculty at Stanford for 23 years and served as deputy director for the National Institutes of Health in charge of the Office of Portfolio Analysis and Strategic Initiatives.

Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University and, more recently, with our Cancer Institutes and Heart Institutes at Northwestern Medicine. I am skilled in major, principal, and planned gift fundraising, building relationships, developing support, and directing volunteers to achieve institutional goals in advocacy and fund development. I embrace my Midwestern roots from my birthplace in Indianapolis to the excitement of living and working in the great city of Chicago, including a passion for Big Ten college football.

As a member of the donor relations team, I am responsible for writing scholarship stewardship reports for both our endowed and expendable scholarships, and keeping track of all our scholarship recipients and their donors. I also manage the alumni association Facebook and LinkedIn pages, as well as our annual Commitment to Scholarships Luncheon in the spring. I have been with the Feinberg School of Medicine for over 20 years in various roles and departments from urology to finance, with Development & Alumni Relations being my favorite so far.

I joined Feinberg in 2013 after working for several years in partnership with its staff as a philanthropy coordinator at Northwestern Memorial Foundation. I have been at the Feinberg School since 2004 and recently participated in the successful conversion from our client-server database AIMS to the new web-based CATracks.

I have been with the University since 2001. For the first two and a half years, I worked in the Office of Alumni Relations and Development in Evanston as a program assistant, and eventually moved to Feinberg Development & Alumni Relations, where I have been ever since. Along the way I finished up my undergraduate courses and earned a degree in communications from the School of Continuing Studies at Northwestern.
