Alumni Giving Program

Northwestern has long been one of the nation’s most desired destinations in medical education. As an alumnus, this should come as no surprise, for you also enhanced the Northwestern community with your own unique intellect, talents, and engagement with your classmates and our medical school.

Perhaps you chose Northwestern’s medical school for the same reasons that many students choose us today, because of our reputation as a leader in clinical practice and groundbreaking research. We are proud of our heritage of curriculum excellence and innovation, where a solid and rigorous grounding in the classroom is tempered with freedom for personal growth and fulfillment through health services volunteerism. Students tell us that our academic schedule encourages independent learning, which has proven to enhance their medical training experience here. To learn more about ways to connect with your medical school, visit the Medical Alumni Association website.

As we fulfill our mission each day, we hope you will consider supporting the following priority funding initiatives. As an alumnus who supports your alma mater, you make an extraordinary difference. Generous alumni and faculty members who make contributions to the medical school also may be recognized with membership in the Nathan Smith Davis Recognition Program. Find out more about the Nathan Smith Davis Recognition Program.

Our 2011 Nathan Smith Davis Recognition Program Report thanks and recognizes six groups of individuals who made a difference at the medical school in Fiscal Year 2011. Through their annual gifts, planned gifts, cumulative lifetime gifts, and volunteer service, these supporters represent the power of participation in action at Northwestern University. We are proud to honor them in this 2011 Report.

Medical School Scholarship Fund

The Medical School Scholarship Fund, annually supported by alumni gifts, is earmarked for immediate-use scholarship support. Students supported from the Medical School Scholarship Fund are named “Medical School Scholars,” recognizing the combined gifts of many donors while instilling a sense of pride and responsibility in future Northwestern graduates.

Medical School Annual Fund

The Medical School Annual Fund supports Northwestern's strong tradition of innovative academic initiatives, engaging alumni programs, and dedicated student programs, including academic and career counseling as well as health-related volunteer activism. Your support helps Northwestern meet the expected as well as the unexpected needs of a top-tier medical school.

Named Scholarships

Many of our generous alumni have named immediate-use and endowed scholarship funds to support current students at their alma mater. Named scholarships also beget named scholars, who embody their benefactor's pride and connection to the medical school. Named scholarships ensure that financial barriers will not deter top applicants from pursuing a Northwestern University medical degree. View all named scholarships at the medical school.
