Patient care areas and other General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) resources at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) are housed in a 5,230 square foot unit located in the hospital's Feinberg Pavilion, on the 10th floor (Northeast), facilitating concentrated and efficient research care. At NMH, the center's patient care area features six inpatient beds and an outpatient facility with four outpatient rooms and five outpatient beds. The facility's environment can be adapted for specific study requirements, such as sleep studies or bone marrow transplant.
The center's inpatient rooms are located on the north side of the Feinberg Pavilion and are fully private. There is one negative airflow inpatient room for research patients with infectious diseases and one inpatient room approved for radioactive procedures and therapies.
The inner floor areas of the unit---totaling approximately 1,334 square feet---house the GCRC's outpatient area. A central hallway provides access to four outpatient rooms, with a total of three outpatient beds and two procedure chairs. Two of these rooms are designed to accommodate sleep studies and have bays. All outpatient rooms can accommodate cardiac monitoring through the use of two portable cardiac monitor units. |
