Administrative Resources

The GCRC administrative office is located in the 676 N St. Clair Building across the street from NMH. Grants management and center administration are provided by the GCRC Administrative Director, Barbara M. Bellg, and Center Assistants Inés Lagos and Carrie Johnson. The administrative office provides support for:

  • the GCRC application process
  • budget and administrative review of each GCRC application
  • billing procedures and bill review and adjustments
  • maintenance of IRB status records of all Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) approved protocols
  • center grants management
  • center budget management
  • NIH/NCRR correspondence and reporting

Investigators wishing to use GCRC resources should obtain a GCRC application from either the GCRC Web site or the center's administrative director. The administrative director and/or center assistant will be glad to assist investigators and research coordinators with the application and the SAC review process. The administrative director will also review the application for format and budget concerns. Prior to initiating the study, all budget and billing issues for procedures during GCRC admissions should be resolved. The GCRC utilizes Northwestern Memorial Hospital patient registration, accounting, and billing mechanisms, and maintains records of all research activity in the center.
