The Medical School Faculty Handbook provides information about faculty appointments in the Medical School, responsibilities of membership on the faculty, and the organization and governance of the school. It is not intended to be all inclusive; more detailed or comprehensive information may be obtained from the appropriate department, school, or University office. This handbook should be used in conjunction with the Northwestern University faculty handbook.

The information contained in this handbook is current as of January 2000. Information in the handbook may be superseded by changes in policy or programs that occur after its publication. Revisions of handbook content will be made from time to time and disseminated in print format and/or electronically. This electronic version will be updated at the beginning of each academic year. In the unlikely event that statements in this document are in conflict with information in the University faculty handbook, the statements in the latter take precedence.

Faculty members are responsible for familiarizing themselves with changes in policy and procedure.
