|  | Music runs in Yvette Freeman's family—all the way back to her great great grand uncle Scott Joplin, the famous ragtime composer of the late 1890s and early 1900s. "My grandmother's maiden name was Joplin," says Freeman, program coordinator 3 in the Office of Research at the Feinberg School. "It's pretty cool to be a part of that piece of history." Like her famous relative, she was introduced to music early. "I've been singing in church since I was 5 years old," she says. In July he will step down as dean and vice president for medical affairs and J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, will assume those roles.
