KinderCare Registration Begins on Chicago Campus

Registration began September 20 for the new KinderCare@Northwestern University child care center, which is scheduled to open on the Chicago campus in early 2005. Registration is ongoing for the center, which will accommodate 112 children. The center will be located at 446–448 East Ontario Street, two blocks south of Abbott Hall. Since the announcement of the KinderCare agreement in May, more than 100 families have inquired about the center.

KinderCare@Northwestern University will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding major holidays), for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, with 48 infant spaces available. Spaces will be awarded to families in the order they are received and according to priority enrollment status. For Northwestern students and faculty and staff members, affiliation with the University designates priority status.

Interested Northwestern families should complete a designation form to confirm their Northwestern affiliation and priority enrollment status. Forms are available on line at HR or at the Chicago Human Resources Office and should be returned promptly to the Chicago HR Office to expedite registration. Spaces may be reserved in the center by visiting the KinderCare temporary office at 446 East Ontario Street, Suite 150, where a representative will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept registration packets. The representative may be reached at 312/867-7056.
