Organizations

The Medical School Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (APT) Committee is composed of 18 Professors representing basic science and clinical departments. Committee members are appointed by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs with the agreement of the appointee's Department Chair for a 5-year term of service. The APT Committee evaluates and recommends approval or disapproval of all department applications for initial appointments and promotion/tenure at the rank of Associate Professor and Professor: 2012-2013 Committee Roster

The Medical Faculty Council (MFC) functions as an advocate for the medical faculty by communicating with the administration of the medical school and the faculty at large. The council serves as a conduit between faculty members and medical school administrators, providing valuable input regarding faculty opinions and needs to each of the executive associate deans who chair the operational councils.

The Women Faculty Organization (WFO) fosters the growth, development and mentoring of women faculty in the Feinberg School of Medicine. A wide range of networking, mentoring, and educational opportunities are available to contribute to successful career development here at the Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern University.
