Recruitment
We know that faculty search committees put a great deal of time and effort into identifying the most talented pool of potential candidates from which to choose. It is also a Feinberg and Northwestern University priority that faculty searches tap into the breadth of talent in groups of individuals who may not be as familiar with Northwestern, especially groups who are underrepresented in medicine and biomedical research. But creating awareness within these groups of the great opportunities at Feinberg, and specific faculty openings, can be a challenge.
To assist faculty searches we have prepared a short document with helpful suggestions of how to attract a diverse and talented pool of applicants for faculty positions. Please take a few minutes to go over the suggestions and incorporate as many as possible into your searches. We would be happy to work more closely with any department in implementing these strategies.
