Dr. Psutka is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and the Director of Urologic Oncology at the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

She graduated from Harvard College with honors, and received her M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed a residency in Urologic Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and went on to complete a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the Mayo Clinic. During her fellowship, she also obtained her Masters in Clinical and Translational Science from the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Psutka’s clinical efforts focus on minimally invasive and open urologic oncology, with a particular interest in testicular cancer, bladder cancer, and high-risk prostate and kidney cancer. Her research interests focus on the development of decision aids to help patients with advanced genitourinary malignancies select the treatment options that is best suited for them. She also studies the interactions between body composition (specifically lean muscle mass and obesity) and nutritional status and outcomes after major oncologic surgery, as well as disparities in oncologic outcomes in patients with urologic malignancies. Finally, she is working towards improving perioperative outcomes and long-term survival for patients undergoing surgery for genitourinary malignancies through the incorporation of enhanced recovery pathways and optimization of perioperative nutrition and overall wellness.[Shorten text]
