Dr. Paul is an Associate Medical Director at the Center for Excellence at Lurie Children’s hospital. She received QI training through the Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Health in Utah and through the Advanced Improvement Methods course at Cincinnati Childrens. She received QI training through the Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Health in Utah and through the Advanced Improvement Methods course at Cincinnati Childrens. Early in her career she examined adherence to PALS guidelines at Boston Children’s Hospital and found significant shortcomings in delivery of ideal care. She subsequently conducted a successful improvement project within the Boston ED based on these results. She became the team leader for Boston Children’s in a 12 hospital Children’s Hospital Association sepsis collaborative and this hospital became the top performer with regards to improvement of process metrics as well as mortality. She is currently a co-data leader and on the advisory committee for the two largest national pediatric sepsis QI collaboratives, the 25 hospital AAP Pediatric Septic Shock Collaborative (PSSC), just completed and the CHA sponsored Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes (IPSO) collaborative currently ongoing.[Shorten text]
