Focus of Work
Dr. Cynthia Castiglioni completed her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and received her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh. After completing her pediatric residency at Children's Memorial Hospital, she joined the Division of Hospital Based Medicine in 2009. She is the Medical Director for Floor 21 at the Ann & Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago as well as the Clinical Practice Director for the hospitalist group.
My interest is in developing programs to promote patient-family centered care, improve patient safety and optimize the patient experience. My current focus is on optimizing family-centered rounding as a way to improve communication among the family and healthcare team and increase safety.
