Dr. Cohn is an expert in HIV medicine, infectious disease, and HIV clinical trials and health services outcomes research. She is cha...[Read full text]Dr. Cohn is an expert in HIV medicine, infectious disease, and HIV clinical trials and health services outcomes research. She has been an active participant in the NIH/NIAID AIDS Clinical Trials Group since 1988, and has held numerous leadership positions including Vice Chair and Chair of the Women’s Health Committee and the Outcomes Committee, Vice-Chair of the Underrepresented Populations Committee 2008-2010 and Chair of the Women’s Health Internetwork Scientific Committee (WHISC). She is chair and co-chair of major protocols pertaining to women's health, self-management and outcomes, recruitment of women and minorities into clinical trials, and optimizing ART, and is an active team member on many other protocols. Her current research areas have included optimizing the health of HIV-infected women, improving adherence to antiretrovirals, and improving access to health care and clinical trials for underrepresented populations. Dr. Cohn has maintained an active HIV clinical practice, has been a teacher of HIV medicine to medical students, residents, fellows, nurses and other care professors for over 20 years. She has mentored nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, and other faculty both in and out of her institution, helping to advance their careers in both research and clinical medicine.[Shorten text]
