My main clinical interest is the diagnosis and treatment of primary immunodeficiency diseases and my research interest is focused on elucidating the pathogenesis of primary immune deficiency diseases, understanding the natural history of these diseases and developing novel approaches to their therapy. Lymphocyte development is another area of interest, which ties in closely with primary immunodeficiency disease as many of these diseases results from failure of lymphocyte development. In addition, I am also interested in the immunopathogenesis of allergic diseases especially food allergy and the mechanisms involved in the development of natural tolerance to allergens.[Shorten text]
