Bio

Dr. Smith, who is a trained prosthetist, currently serves and has served as Principle Investigator on a number of research grants relating to the delivery of rehabilitation services and technologies to war wounded populations internationally. In particular he has been involved in the development and delivery of appropriate prosthetics and rehabilitation technologies and distance learning to land mine victims in low income countries. In particular he has been involved in the development and delivery of appropriate prosthetics and rehabilitation technologies and distance learning to land mine victims in low income countries. In addition, Dr. Smith has led the development and commercialization of a number of health informatics applications including store-and-forward telemedicine, personal health record (PHR) and clinical decision support (CDSS) systems.
