The main driven force for my studies is to better understand the functional units of motor control in humans so to develop rehabilitation protocols that promote sensorimotor recovery in people with a spinal cord injury (SCI). I employ non-invasive electrophysiological techniques incorporating also engineering elements to fully describe the above concepts. Currently, my research studies are concentrated on examining the reorganization of spinal reflex circuits after intensive locomotor training in people with SCI.
