Shelby Kaplan, MD, MBA Medical School: East Carolina University (MD/MBA) Undergraduate:  East Carolina University

Shelby Kaplan is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and earned a combined MD/MBA at East Carolina University. She completed the Brody School of Medicine Early Assurance Scholar program, in which she maintained a perfect GPA in Neuroscience with University Honors and summa cum laude. While in college, Shelby was a summer intern with a neuroscience research lab funded by a grant from NASA. She was the recipient of multiple awards during medical school, most notably: the North Carolina Schweitzer Fellowship, Honor Marshal, Merck Manual Award, and the several scholarships. Shelby was an NIH Summer Research Intern with NINDS. She has done several poster presentations and written a publication in Brain Research on traumatic brain injury. She was also a member of the Admissions Committee and an organizer of various volunteer projects while in medical school.
