Data Storage for Research Faculty - NUIT Vault

The NUIT Vault provides elligible NU researchers, faculty, and fellows with 50 GB of free storage to securely house and share project data

  • Share research data with colleagues
  • Store large-scale computational research data
  • Request additional storage for further data analysis: Three tiers are available
    • Collaborative data storage in excess of 50 GB is available for purchase in 100 GB increments
    • Supplementary data storage is available for purchase in 500 GB increments

Grant Writing Course from the NU School of Continuing Studies

The NU SCS offers the course PHIL_NP 380-0  "Grantsmanship for the Research Professional" 

"This course aims to teach and enhance skills associated with effective grant opportunity identification, preparation, writing and submission to investigators engaged in research as well as research administrators responsible for pursuing grant opportunities. Strategies for developing grant proposals that support both hypothesis-driven and need-based research activities will be presented, with a focus on opportunities from government, corporate and foundation sectors. The course is appropriate for researchers at all levels (graduate students through faculty) and research administrators conducting or supporting research in the biological, clinical, life sciences, medical and natural sciences; physical sciences and mathematics; social and behavioral sciences; engineering; law; education; and technology development. Topics covered in this two-day workshop include Research Program Development, Funding Opportunity Identification, Grant Resources, Pre- and Post Award Compliance Overview, Proposal Planning, Proposal Components, Writing the Specific Aims Section, Budget Development, Review Process, Proposal Submission, Team Science, and Post Award Primer."

The grantsmanship course is greatly beneficial for those seeking funding and is tought by a well respected instructor. Residents, fellows, and faculty are eligible for 85%  tuition discount and consideration of support from the NU EM department for the small remaining amount of tuition.
