          SAEM Annual Meeting, Boston, MA - June 2-5, 2011  

NU EM Faculty, Fellows, and Residents are headed to Boston for this year's SAEM Annual Meeting. There they will be presenting their research and sharing their expertise with a host of their emergency medicine colleagues.

           7th Annual Lewis Landberg Research Day: April 7, 2011          

“Research Day is a campus-wide event to promote faculty and trainee development through sharing of exciting research and conversation with colleagues. Research Day also provides an opportunity to learn about the Research Cores and the full spectrum of support they provide for clinical and basic science research.” - Feinberg School of Medicine Research Office

This year, 218 posters were presented; a 43% increase from last year.  Faculty and residents from the Department of Emergency Medicine presented two posters:

  • Tammie Quest, MD, Michael Gisondi, MD, Kirsten G. Engel, MD, Carolyn Goldstein, BA, Linda Emanuel, MD, PhD: Implementation of the Screening for Palliative Care Needs in the Emergency Department (SPEED) Instrument in Two Emergency Departments

At this year's CORD assembly, several Faculty and Residents presented their research:

Congratulations to Katrina Leone (’10) and Dave Salzman (’09) for winning “Best Fellow Research Presentation” at the 2011 CORD Academic Assembly last week in San Diego. Their study was entitled, “Evaluation of a Curriculum to Educate Emergency Medicine Residents in Informed Consent.” Co-authors included Kelly Williamson, Shera Teitge, and John Vozenilek.
