Dr. Nedza is the Chief Medical Officer, Region V of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the Chicago office. The region serves the states of Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. She is currently leading the quality improvement efforts for the Regional Office. Dr. Nedza is a graduate of the Stritch School of Medicine, and is board certified in emergency medicine. She is a graduate of the Executive Master's Program of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management of Northwestern University. Dr. Nedza served in the role of Medical Director, Division of Emergency Medical Services, for the Illinois Department of Public Health until 2002. She has expertise in the area of performance measure development, medical error reduction and quality improvement. She has served on technical expert panels for the Physician Consortium on Performance Improvement, Qualis QIO, and as an advisor to the JCAHO on the development of performance measures. She has spoken internationally about the implementation of practice guidelines and moving toward evidence based practice. Dr. Nedza is an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University.
