The primary purpose of this department is to ensure the maintenance of the Foundation-wide Billing Compliance program. This is accomplished primarily through on-going audits and education to both physicians and coding staff. The Billing Compliance Department is also responsible for maintaining, building, updating, and supporting the claimscrubber software. The purpose of this software is to ensure that NMFF claims are submitted according to coding rules and payer regulations/contracts.

In continued efforts to ensure compliance, the Billing Compliance Department helps facilitate the processing of accurate and compliant claims by reviewing charge vouchers, maintaining fee schedules, and updating coding related IDX dictionaries.

The Billing Compliance Department researches and responds to all NMFF-wide coding, documentation, and/or compliance questions, issues, or concerns.
