Educational Programs & Faculty Development

Augusta Webster Educational Programs & Faculty Development is the central administrative unit for the management of the undergraduate medical curriculum. The responsibilities include:

  • establishing the curriculum for the medical students
  • working with course directors in all aspects of course administration
  • identifying and supporting qualified candidates to teach the curriculum
  • preparing and distributing course materials (such as laboratory supplies, syllabi, and examinations)
  • facilitating communication between students and faculty members
  • preparing, administering, and grading examinations
  • overseeing the course evaluation process

    Registration and Records
    Registrations and Records is housed within the Augusta Webster Office of Medical Education (Ward 1-003).  This office serves as the repository of biographical and academic records for students and graduates. It also coordinates the design and modification of third- and fourth-year clerkship schedules.

Clinical Education Center (CEC)
Clinical skills training takes place in the Clinical Education Center (240 East Huron Street, McGaw Pavilion, first floor). The CEC consists of:

  • 12 clinical evaluation rooms linked by an integrated audio/video/computer system
  • two computer laboratory rooms
  • a patient training room
  • a 45-seat classroom
  • a training laboratory housing the “HARVEY” mannequin and the connected U/Medic computer-based cardiology simulator

Student Programs & Professional Development

Student Programs and Professional Development provides many of the support services and initiatives for the medical student body. It coordinates services provided by other offices of the School of Medicine and the University at large and interacts closely with the Educational Programs & Faculty Development. Student Programs provides guidance on academic, financial, career development, and personal issues. It supports student applications for residency programs and other educational opportunities including research and combined degree programs. Student Programs provides counsel and financial support to student organizations and coordinates many important events for Feinberg School of Medicine, including orientation and commencement.

Honors Program in Medical Education

The Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME) is a Baccalaureate-MD program that provides a unique educational experience for talented students anticipating a career in medicine during their undergraduate years that fosters flexibility and creativity.  Students have the opportunity to focus their experiences to prepare for leadership roles in their careers in medicine.

Global Health Opportunities/Visiting Students Program

The Visiting Student Program manages fourth year extramural rotations for domestic and international students from away institutions.  Global Health Programs coordinates international educational opportunities for Feinberg students.
