Annually the center sponsors about a dozen speakers from other universities for the Immunobiology Seminar Series, and the center also sponsors a weekly Immunobiology Journal Club and Internal Research In Progress Symposia.

Center members serve as instructors in a variety of medical and Graduate School courses in immunology, pathogenesis, microbiology, and virology. The center provides financial and faculty support to the Autumn Immunology Conference held annually in Chicago.

Stephen D. Miller, PhD, Congressman John Edward Porter Professor of Biomedical Research, and Patricia G. Spear, PhD, Guy and Ann Youmans Professor of Microbiology-Immunology, are the principal investigator and coprincipal investigator, respectively, of the National Institutes of Health grant Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis Training Program (1T32 Al-07476), which was funded by NIAID beginning September 1, 2001. The grant supports four predoctoral (PhD and MD/PhD) and two postdoctoral (PhD, MD, and MD/PhD) fellows per year for five years. The training faculty includes 25 center members.

If you would like to be included on the Immunobiology Center mailing list for seminars and/or journal clubs, please contact the current coordinators:
