Banner
The banner consists of Feinberg top bar, search and Unit/Department name. All elements are required and should be consistent throughout all Feinberg School unit/dept sites, per Dean Neilson's instructions.
Feinberg Top Bar required
- This top color bar, along with all of its links and images is required on all Feinberg School sites.

Scientific Careers Research and Development Group - the Feinberg mark in the upper right, links back to www.feinberg.northwestern.edu, and has a rollover state image
- The words "Northwestern University" link to www.northwestern.edu and the words "Feinberg School of Medicine" link to www.feinberg.northwestern.edu. This provides a handy shortcut, and is required.
- There are four color options available to most departments, centers, institutes, groups and labs:
- View the Cascade Unit Template Gallery to see samples of all of the option.
- Feinberg School sites are free to select their color option, but must keep the color consistent throughout their site. If you select blue-purple for your site, you must use it on all your pages, no mixing.
- The color option you choose for the header is also required to be used in the footer (will be a link to the footer page).
- Dean's offices are required to use the purple version. See the Cascade Office Template.
Search required
- Default search has option to search Feinberg or Northwestern, with Feinberg selected.
- For larger sites, we can customize the search so that site visitors have the option to search within department site or Feinberg.
Unit/Department Name required
- typeface is Trade Gothic Light, 32pt #520063 (Northwestern purple), or can use Google font "News Cycle" displayed at size 28-36px
- should be a link to your site's home page
- have a rollover state that is #6d6e71 (gray)
- the dept/unit name can be displayed on one line, or two if needed for longer names
