Helpful hints and information for printing on the z6100ps printer in the Cell Imaging Facility

Poster Printing at the Cell Imaging Facility
For this self-service process:
1. Mandatory user training times can be scheduled with facility staff and sometimes on a walk-in basis (no guarantee for walkins due to previously scheduled instrument training.)

If your poster is ready, bring it to the initial training and we will train and print at the same time.

2. Our printer is operational from 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday
(mornings are less congested- and upcoming conference times can be busy, plan ahead.)

3. Our strongly preferred print format is PDF (see online site to convert properly)
a. We are not responsible for misprints.
b. A tech-time fee may apply if you need significant assistance after the initial training.

4. Before coming to the facility:
a. Make sure you create your poster in a page setting size that is EQUAL to the size you wish to print
The page size cannot be more than 52 inches wide when you design your poster in PowerPoint. This is due to an invisible margin in the file BEFORE you convert to PDF.
b. Print your poster (fit to page) on your printer to proof, making sure everything is in alignment and you do not have any stray items. Bring it when you print.

Payment in the form of ChartString is the easiest-
You will need:
A. PI name
B. Account Administrator Name
C. Chartstring number
D. Lab phone number

INFORMATION:

Printing prices - Current price for printing is $2.08/linear inch; so a 42” X 60” poster will cost approximately $87.36 (42”x2.08)
