This year’s annual report focuses on the Feinberg School of Medicine’s journey to achieve preeminence in research, education, and clinical care. Like most journeys, ours consists of defined routes and occasional side trips. One defined route for the school is through mentorship, where the expertise of educators, scientists, and clinicians helps students define their personal paths in medicine and biomedical science. Another defined route is through providing tangible resources, whether it be a 3T magnet for enhanced functional imaging or a new Clinical Education Center that “helps us focus on the central reality of what it takes to be a physician: clinical, procedural, and medical decision-making skills.”
As with any long-distance journey, the course includes colorful highlights as well as vistas in black and white and all shades of gray in between. We hope you enjoy.
