Professional
Stipends for anesthesiology residents/fellows are determined by the Office of Graduate Medical Education and are as follows for the 2009-2010 academic year:
PGY-1, $48,271
PGY-2, $50,519
PGY-3, $53,122
PGY-4, $56,143
PGY 5, $59,046
PGY 6, $61,514
PGY-2 residents starting in 2010 will receive the following anesthesiology textbooks: Clinical Anesthesia, Barash, Stock, et al. (2009), Chestnut's Obstetric Anesthesia, Chestnut, Wong, et. al. (2009), Anesthesiologist's Manual of Surgical Procedures, Jaffe (2009), and Basics of Anesthesia, Stoelting & Miller (2007)
PGY-3 residents receive a $400 educational expense account.
All fellows except CT Fellows receive a $500 educational expense account.
PGY-4 residents receive a $1290 educational expense account to pay for their ABA written examination application fees.
The department pays for airfare, lodging, meals, and the registration fee for residents and fellows attending the Midwestern Anesthesiology Resident Conference (MARC).
The department pays airfare, lodging, meals, and the registration fee when residents or fellows present their abstract at a national meeting/conference.
The department pays the registration fee for residents and fellows to attend the Illinois Society of Anesthesiology/Midwest Anesthesia Conference annual meeting.
The department pays for airfare, lodging, meals and the registration fee for fellows who attend one of the following meetings: ASA, SCCM, ASRA, SAMBA, SNACC, SCA or SOAP.
