We are pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Paller, MD, as chair of the Department of Dermatology, effective February 10, 2004.
Dr. Paller joined Northwestern's faculty as associate professor of pediatrics and dermatology in 1988. She was also appointed head of the Division of Dermatology at Children's Memorial Hospital at that time. In 1994, Dr. Paller was awarded tenure and in 1996 she was promoted to the rank of professor. Dr. Paller received her undergraduate and master degrees in medical genetics from Brown University. She was awarded her MD from Stanford University. Dr. Paller completed residencies in pediatrics and dermatology at Northwestern and she spent a year as a fellow in dermatology at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Paller has made many important research contributions and is internationally distinguished in the area of growth and differentiation of keratinocytes. She is a member of many prominent academic societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology and has held important leadership positions in many professional societies.
We are delighted that Dr. Paller has accepted this important leadership position and look forward to working with her in the future to build a premier Department of Dermatology at Northwestern. Please join us in congratulating her. |
