 Neel Naik Receives Viste Award
During a luncheon the day before the graduation convocation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Neel Naik, MD ’10, received the Kenneth M. Viste, Jr, MD ’66, Student Service Recognition Award for outstanding service to the medical school and/or the Medical Alumni Association. The annual award is sponsored by the Medical Alumni Association and the Office of Development. Ginny Darakjian, assistant dean of alumni relations, presented the cash award to Naik at the event, which was sponsored by the Alumni Association. His award was also announced during the commencement ceremony. Nominations by the Offices of Admissions, Alumni Relations, Development, Medical Education, Minority and Cultural Affairs, and Student Programs and Professional Development are submitted to the Executive Committee of the Medical Alumni Association National Board for final selection. The award honors the contributions of the late Kenneth Viste, a medical school alumnus of the Class of 1966, who had also received the Northwestern University Service and Merit Awards and the medical school’s Distinguished Alumni Award. |
