MD & Premed Degree Programs
In addition to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, the Feinberg School of Medicine’s Office of Admissions offers the following joint degree programs for MD students. The MD/MA and MD/MPH are combined degree programs that can be completed in the same four years as the MD degree. The MD/PhD, or Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), requires three to four years of doctoral study that is pursued after the first two years of studies for the Doctor of Medicine degree. (MSTP admissions are handled in conjunction with the MSTP Office.)

Feinberg Undergraduate Medical Education Programs
Feinberg has an integrated doctor of medicine curriculum designed to prepare students for careers as medical professionals. In addition to available experiences in research, global medicine, and diverse care environments, the curriculum was updated with Class of 2016 to prepare students for the challenges of 21st century medicine.
The Combined MD/MA Program is designed for students at Feinberg who are interested in earning an MA in Medical Humanities & Bioethics concurrently with their MD.
The MD/MPH Program allows students in the medical school to earn a master of Public Health degree part-time in the evening while they earn a MD at Feinberg. Administered through the Department of Preventive Medicine, students should first be accepted into the medical school before applying to the Graduate School.
The Master's Program is designed to meet educational goals while allowing students to continue their careers or medical education, making the program accessible to medical students, clinicians, and working healthcare professionals. This program is designed for both clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals who want to focus their career development on these important areas in health care.
The MSTP program allows students to work towards both an MD and PhD degree through the medical school and the Graduate School, respectively. Students are first admitted to the medical school before applying for the MSTP.
The Northwestern Undergraduate Premedical Scholars Program (NUPSP) is an early MD acceptance program into the Feinberg School of Medicine for high achieving Northwestern University undergraduate students with a demonstrated commitment to a career as a physician.
