NU Loan – GPAL InstructionsInternational students must complete the NU Loan - GPAL application every year. Do not complete the application unless your online award notice indicates you are eligible to borrow from the NU Loan Program. Note that only international students are eligible for the NU Loan - GPAL. 1. You will receive an award notice via e-mail.
The award notice indicates you have been offered an NU Loan - GPAL. 2. Initiate the application process. Access OWLS (Online Web Loan System) via CAESAR.
To access OWLS, complete the student section of the NU Loan Application in CAESAR. Go to For Students > Financial Services > NU Loan Application > OWLS. 3. Apply for your NU Loan - GPAL on the OWLS.
Follow the instructions carefully and submit the completed application. Additional information concerning NU Loan terms and conditions may also be found on the NU Loan – OWLS web site. 4. Wait for final approval of the loan application.
Once the application is complete, a conditional decision of approval will be available within 24 hours. The Office of Student Loans administers this institutional loan program and provides final approval. 5. Sign and return promissory notes.
The promissory note is sent to you for signature. Return the promissory note to the Chicago Office of Financial Aid: Office of Financial Aid, Chicago (C315)
