Electronic Residency Application ServiceThe Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) developed ERAS to manage and electronically transmit supporting documents to residency program directors via the Internet. ERAS is made up of four components: - MyERAS, Web-based applicant web site

The ERAS application includes all traditional components of a residency application, including the CAF Application , a personal statement, the MSPE, the medical school transcript, and letters of recommendation. ERAS 2012 will be used by most residency programs in anesthesiology, dermatology, diagnostic radiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, internal medicine/emergency medicine, internal medicine/family medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, internal medicine/physical medicine & rehabilitation, internal medicine/psychiatry, neurology, nuclear medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, pathology, pediatrics, pediatrics/emergency medicine, pediatrics/physical medicine & rehabilitation, pediatrics/psychiatry/child psychiatry, physical medicine & rehabilitation, plastic surgery (PGY1 positions only), psychiatry, radiation oncology, surgery (general), transitional year, urology, and U.S. Army and Navy programs offering PGY1 positions. Please note that U.S. Army and Navy programs are available only to U.S. citizens who have military obligations. For more infomation about ERAS, the process, and their fees please go the the ERAS Web site. Supporting documents for an application file include a Dean's letter/MSPE, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and medical school transcript. Most programs will specify any additional documents they require (photograph, undergrad transcripts, etc.). |
