Instructions:1) Click here to fill out the MSSRP Online Application 2) You will receive a confirmation email that the first part of your application has been received. 3) The confirmation email will instruct you to download the second part of the application, which you will complete with your mentor. 4) Submit this written portion to Sue Anne Tae in Ward 1-003 (your application should include your mentor's NIH-formatted biosketch and list of prior trainees) Students who are accepted into the program are required to participate full-time for a 10-week period. Additional activities that detract from a full-time effort are prohibited. In addition, the focus of the project should be on research activities and clinical activities unrelated to the research project are discouraged. If clinical activities are required as part of the project, then these activities should be justified in the grant proposal. If accepted into the program, the MSSRP stipend must serve as the sole source of salary support. Finally, only one submission for a grant proposal will be allowed. Revised applications and re-submissions are not accepted. Information for Students and Mentors:1) Medical Students will be allowed to apply on one occasion for the MSSRP during their M1-M2 summer. 2) Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME) students can apply on one occasion during their undergraduate year and once during medical school. 3) Mentors will be allowed to sponsor a maximum of 2 students per year. 4) Students should select a mentor at least one month prior to the grant submission deadline, and should meet periodically with the mentor during the grant writing period. 5) Students and mentors should meet to review the final grant prior to submission. 6) The Research Plan must be detailed, outlining the specific methodologies of the study, and include statistical analysis, if appropriate. 7) If the project involves a survey, a copy of the survey must be included with the submission of the grant proposal. 8) Students are encouraged to meet with MSSRP personnel prior to the grant submission date. 9) Mentors must sign the grant proposal after they have reviewed the final copy. |
