Howard Hughes Medical Institute - Research Training Fellowship

Description:  Provides funds to about 60 students each year to spend a year to conduct basic, transitional or  applied biomedical research at any U.S. academic or non-profit research institution (excluding NIH).  

Eligibility: Students in good standing with the medical school cannot be enrolled in an MD/PhD, PhD or a ScD program or have a PhD in a lab-based biological science. Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States.

Award Amount: Stipend, fellow’s & research allowance

Duration/Location of Program: 12 consecutive months/U.S. based academic or non-profit research institution of the fellow’s choice.
