Description: The NIH Clinical Electives Program provides medical students with first-hand experience in the conduct of clinical research. Courses are offered in a variety of subspecialties (see Web site). Participants in the elective program have an opportunity to gain experience in the design, conduct, and management of clinical trials. Students are also introduced to translational medicine. Eligibility: Open to students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, currently enrolled in medical school and have completed their initial rotation/clerkship prior to arriving at the National Institutes of Health.
